We found a hidden jewel on the Oregon Coast. If you plan on heading down toward Coos Bay, consider visiting Shore Acres State Park. The grounds consist of a gorgeous botanical garden as well as an amazing viewpoint of the lovely Oregon sea shore. If you are interested in history, you would enjoy reading the history of this historic site. So beautiful!

Bandon, Oregon
We enjoyed visiting the sleepy little tourist town of Bandon. We poked around the shops for a while. We especially enjoyed perusing a fun toy store and buying a bag of taffy from the candy store.
We headed down to the docks where the girls enjoyed the equestrian artwork,
celebrating the Chinese Year of the Horse.
We noticed that folks were crabbing down at the docks..
The kids had fun asking about the process. We learned that: the females had to be thrown back, smaller crabs had to be thrown back and that raw chicken was the best bait food.
Time to return the borrowed lifejackets and head back to the campground to pack up and head out!
Goodbye Bandon, onto Coos Bay and then home
