Thank you Discovery Tours!

Discovery Tours is one of Jeremy's clients which is located in Centralia, WA. Discovery Tours offers day trips as well as national and worldwide trips as well.

A few weeks back they hosted a Carribean tour which included a day stop in Belize. Last month while planning the trip, they had contacted Jeremy to ask him if our family could come and make a presentation to the group while stopped in Belize City- telling them about the needs among the people of Belize and what we had experienced here so far. Discovery had also seen our website which showed a few of the families we have 'adopted'. Many of their clients on the cruise brought with them cash and children's items to donate to these special families. Grady did a great job with the presentation and handed around his laptop which had a powerpoint of photos. We were so blessed by all of the gifts for the children. We were able to spread the gospel of the Kingdom that day. We just pray that what was shared with this group of sweet people was glorifying to the LORD!

When we got to the restaurant where we were to give the presentation, we were trying to figure out just how we were going to talk over the blasting music.. thankfully though the staff at the restaurant offered to turn it down while we spoke. We were very blessed by all of the people we spoke to. They were very encouraging and interested in what we had to share.

The restaurant is located in 'Old Belize' which is located just outside of Belize City. It is a gated area which houses a marina, this fun water park as well as the restaurant and a few stores.

In this photo we are wearing the new dresses that the ladies from Valley Christian Fellowship made for us! Thank you so much Phebe, Page ladies and all who worked on these! What a blessing you have been to our family

Here are the children's items donated. What a blessing! Thank you Discovery Tours for being interested in children who live so very far away from you and who are so needy. It is so easy to push from our minds those who are wanting.. who are suffering. We so appreciate you for remembering them. We were able to witness the little faces who received these and we can tell you that your efforts have made a difference in their little lives. Lord willing, the cash received will be used to help with Lucy's medical bills as well as starting a housing fund for one of the aunts who sleeps on the floor and who needs a home of her own for she and her children~

Beach Trip

The King Family took us to the beach for a few days. After being in such a lovely country for five months it was wonderful to visit the imfamous Placencia. The weather was terrific! We pretty much had the small hotel to ourselves.. we rented three cabanas which were perfect for housing all sixteen of us. The pool was a hit with the children. They spent many many hours in it. It was pretty hot the day we went down to the beach in Placencia and a few of us got sunburned! :O It was worth it though as it was the first time I had ever seen such blue water. The children and Grady had already experienced such lovliness while we were in Playa in Mexico but I was unable to go to the beach that time. We all marveled at the beauty and majesty of the Lord's creation there. Ryan made friends with a local boy from the fishing village where we were staying. He spent the whole three days hanging out with us. We had many opportunities to speak with him about the Lord. He was baffled by the fact that Ryan didn't know who Michael Jackson was and couldn't figure out why Ryan wasn't a 'party guy' like he was. Ryan had many great opportunities to explain what we believe and about our Jesus. He knew practically nothing about the Lord Jesus. Jeremy and Stephanie had a thin children's Bible Story book that we left with him which explained in the back of the book what Jesus did on the cross and how to develop a relationship with the Lord. Although he admitted he is not a very good reader, we pray that he is interested enough to read it in it's entirety, be convicted and give his heart to the Lord Jesus! We plan on keeping in close touch with him.

One of the highlights of the trip! While fishing, Ryan pulled in this unlikely catch! A pelican! He was very patient with the children while they pet him and held him a while until being released again.

Who me?

Jeremy ordered some red snapper, barracuda and shark. All were caught that morning and brought to us before we left.

Yum, those red snapper were very delicious!

We grab some ice cream from the Country Barn which is located along the Hummingbird Highway and is run by a very nice Mennonite family. Time to head home!
