Gaudi's Casa Vicens

By far, my favorite sight in Barcelona was Casa Vicens- architect Anthony Gaudis first work. He had been comissioned by a local in 1883 to build a beautiful family home in Barcelona.  At Casa Vicens, there is a series of elements that are seen in his later works, in some cases a little altered but always based on this initial concept, this 'Gaudi before Gaudi'

The day was particularly enjoyable because instead of relying on a guide, Ash, Mandy and I were able to poke around for a few hours, revisiting rooms we particularly liked.. stopping whenever we wanted to take in the beauty without being rushed. Of course the most memorable and exciting thing about it was watching Mandy effortlessly climb 3 flights of stairs, tolerate & enjoy lots of visual stimulation and have the ability to look around without a migraine! So amazed and grateful!

🌼 My favorite Spanish souvenir 🌼
 Love the Gaudi marigolds!
